Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information
We never sell your personal information for money. California treats personalized third-party advertising as “sharing,” and Oregon gives you the same right to opt out of targeted advertising. Turning this on opts you out of both.
This does not remove ads. You’ll keep seeing ads — ours, chosen on our servers, with nothing sent to an advertising network on your behalf. Only a Patron subscription removes advertising.
This choice is saved in this browser. We also honor Global Privacy Control signals automatically.
What this does
We do not sell your personal information for money, and we never have. California law also treats personalized third-party advertising as “sharing” personal information, and Oregon’s Consumer Privacy Act gives you a right to opt out of targeted advertising. This one switch opts you out of both. Once it is on, our servers will not release an advertising network’s tag for you, so no third-party ad request is made on your behalf.
What this does not do
It does not remove advertising, and it does not change anything else about the Service. You will keep seeing ads — our own, chosen on our servers from our own catalog. Only a Patron subscription removes advertising. Opting out never costs you a feature, a price, or a level of service.
Global Privacy Control
If your browser or a browser extension sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as an opt-out request on its own — you do not need to use the switch above, and you do not need an account. The control will show that the signal was detected.
Signed out, or on another device
The switch works without an account: your choice is stored in this browser and applied to every ad decision it makes. If you are signed in, we also record it on your account, so it follows you to your other devices. Clearing your browser’s site data clears the browser copy — sign in, or set it again, and it applies from the next request.
